Most champions earn their reputations through traditional competition, but Sakunts has changed what the human body can do with pure willpower, new training methods, and a nearly magical ability to take pain. Sakunts is a rare type of modern strongman. He is a European boxing champion, a holder of many Guinness World Records, and a master in martial arts. He mixes raw power with athletic grace and a strong desire to push the limits of what humans can do.

The groundwork he laid as a child would one day lead to his fame around the world, yet his path has not been typical. Sakunts has followed numerous disciplines at the same time, excelling in boxing, martial arts, and strength competitions with the same level of passion as athletes who follow a single road to greatness.

His ascent to fame started when he got into boxing and martial arts. He was known as a “Armenian martial arts champion” since he was so dedicated to these sports. However, it was his move to professional boxing that made him famous across the continent. Sakunts won the WBF European Professional Boxing Championship in the 69-kilogram weight class in December 2023. This was the highest level of European professional boxing. He won this important title by beating Bazargur Yujer in a decisive battle in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. This win made him a strong contender in European boxing.

But boxing alone couldn’t satisfy Sakunts’s desire to be a great athlete. At the same time, he trained for Power Triathlon, which is a sport that combines strength, endurance, and technical expertise. He has done quite well in this field, winning the titles of Two-Time European Champion in Power Triathlon” and World Champion in Power Triathlon. He also won a Bronze Medal in the Power Wrestling World Cup, which made him even more of a top-level multi-sport athlete.

These achievements alone would make Sakunts one of the best athletes in Armenia. But what really set him apart on the world scene was something far stranger: his capacity to do things that are impossible to explain with logic.

Sakunts has taken a different road in an age when strength records usually require moving huge weights in controlled settings. This approach seems to be meant to push not only physical limitations but also our idea of what humans can do. His Guinness World Records are not only amazing; they are almost too good to be true.

On August 4, 2022, Sakunts pulled 65 tons about the same weight as two whole subway railcars with just his pinky finger. To put this in perspective, Sakunts weighs about 65 kg. He used just one little finger to move something that weighed as much as 1,000 times his own weight. It seems like the physics shouldn’t have worked, yet it did. Witnesses confirmed the feat, and Guinness World Records said it was real.

This record is not the only strange thing that has happened in Sakunts’s career. He has shown similar feats of strength in a number of areas. He pulled two firefighting vehicles weighing 37.5 tonnes using only his teeth a record that shows not only strength but also an almost superhuman ability to spread force through unusual body mechanics. In March 2025, Sakunts did what many would call the ultimate test of strength and he pulled a helicopter with just his pinky finger.

These achievements have gotten him attention from people all around the world and made sports scientists, strength coaches, and athletes all over the world want to know more. How can someone do anything like this? What kinds of training could help someone reach such a goal? Some of the explanations are still unclear, but Sakunts’s dedication to new training methods and his natural genetic advantages are likely to be important factors.

It’s not just Sakunts who has done well. His brother, Arthur Sakunts, is also in the Guinness World Records hall of fame and holds several records of his own. Arthur pulled a helicopter with just his teeth, which shows that his incredible strength is probably partly genetic, but effort and training are still very important. The Sakunts brothers are a rare example in sports: a family that has produced several world-class strength athletes. They have brought international attention to Armenia’s athletic potential and inspired many people to go after their own amazing goals. Development that people frequently miss when they talk about his records.

Sakunts understands that developing one’s athletic skills and physical abilities may be a great way to boost confidence, mental health, and the belief that one can do more than they think they can.

Throughout his career, he has always been involved in initiatives that help young people become better athletes. This shows that he believes that real strength means helping others as well as yourself.

When asked what advise he would provide to young athletes in Armenia who desire to take different courses in athletics, Sakunts gives them counsel based on both common sense and morals. His message is straightforward and has many layers, just like the values that have guided his own amazing path.

Sakunts tells young Armenians, “Get into the sport you like.” This simple command has a lot of importance. He knows that passion must come before success. Young athletes need to find the discipline that calls to them and makes them want to compete. Finding something you really love is the most important thing, whether it’s boxing, martial arts, weightlifting, or a whole different sport.

But Sakunts goes much further. He stresses that young athletes shouldn’t feel like they have to make a decision about their whole career right once. “You can decide later in life whether to make it professional or not,” he says. This advice recognizes a truth that many young athletes find hard to accept: the road to success is rarely straight. The important thing is to learn skills, discipline, and character via sports. If the right job chances come along, they will.

Sakunts speaks with conviction about something just as vital as the physical world but also faith in God. He tells Armenian young people to “Go to church and believe in God”. Sakunts believes that being good in sports and being spiritually grounded are not different things; they are linked. He says that his personal power comes from both physical and spiritual sources. In a country with a strong Christian background, this message hits home for young athletes because it reminds them that the best things are founded on something bigger than just things.

Sakunts stresses a bigger goal, which is probably the most important thing. He wants young Armenians to follow their aspirations and goals, but he also wants them to accomplish good things for Armenia as a whole. This view changes the way people see athletic ambition from a personal goal to one that helps the community and the country as a whole. Sakunts thinks that breaking records or winning championships is not the only way to assess success. True success involves making Armenia look good to the rest of the world, inspiring others, and making your country a better place to live.

This is the way Sakunts thinks about life. He did break world records. He knew that his accomplishments were not just his own, but also those of his country.

Sakunts has won awards, but he is not done being great at them. He has been focused on strength records and boxing in recent years, but martial arts is still a big passion for him. He wants to win more matches and titles in European and world martial arts competitions.

This aim shows that Sakunts won’t be satisfied with what he’s done in the past. He was known as a Armenian martial arts champion early on, but that was just the start. Sakunts is now able to compete at the top levels of international martial arts because of the discipline, mental power, and experience he gained from his boxing championship and strength records. The technical accuracy, ring acumen, and devastating force that made him a European boxing champion will work just as well in the martial arts arena.

The task ahead is not easy. European and world martial arts tournaments draw top competitors from many countries, each with their own training methods, expertise, and desire to win. But Sakunts has shown time and time again that he does best when the odds appear impossible. The same resolve that let him pull a helicopter with his pinky finger will help him get more European and world martial arts titles.

This goal also shows Sakunts’s belief in always growing and changing. He has never been happy to be the best at just one thing. He keeps testing himself in different sports, always looking for new challenges and methods to show what the human body can do. Adding more martial arts titles to his record would make him even more of a versatile and talented athlete of his time.

For Armenian teens who are following his journey, this promise offers a strong message: “Your first success is not your last.” You should strive for greatness in other areas after you have been successful in one. Sakunts’s dedication to martial arts titles, boxing championships, and strength records shows that real champions never stop trying, never stop competing, and never settle for less than their best.

Sakunts’s goals keep getting bigger, even if they already have a lot of accomplishments in several fields. He has set an even more daring goal: pulling an 80-ton airplane, a feat that would be the crowning achievement of his record-breaking career. He knows that to reach this goal, he will need a lot of specialized training and preparation because of how hard it will be on his body and mind. It’s still not certain if this aim will be met, but since Sakunts has a history of achieving what seems impossible and the fact that these aspirations all come together, more martial arts titles, the future 80-ton airplane pull, and his mentoring of young athletes shows that he doesn’t want to be known for just one thing. Sakunts is leaving a legacy that includes being a great competitor, breaking records, helping others, and staying spiritually grounded.

Sakunts shows a way of thinking that is always moving forward and pushing limits. He has won the European boxing championship, set multiple Guinness World Records, and is working on gaining additional martial arts titles. He is also dedicated to helping other people reach their full potential. But he is different because he recognizes that success isn’t only about personal glory. It is believing in something, supporting your community, inspiring your country, and making the world a better place than you found it.

He is a reminder that some individuals are willing to take chances and try new things, and that when they do, they often get more than they believed they could. And when they do well, they help others as well as themselves. Many Armenians will look up to and be inspired by Yuri Sakunts’ legacy.

Yuri Sakunts, who was born in Charentsavan, Armenia, is not your average athlete.
